Settling in: a checklist for long-term RV living

Moving into a long-term RV site is a little different from an overnight stop. A bit of setup up front makes the whole stay smoother. Here's the checklist we share with new long-term residents.

Before you arrive

• Confirm your site's amp service (30 or 50) and bring the right adapter
• Check your rig's length against the site
• Have your deposit and application squared away

Setting up your site

Level the rig, connect water, sewer, and power, and test everything before you fully unpack. On a concrete pad this is quick and stays clean year-round — no mud after a rain.

Making it home

This is where long-term living shines. A fenced yard, a small garden, an outdoor rug and chairs, a storage shed for the gear you don't use daily — little touches turn a parking spot into a place you're happy to come back to.

Staying comfortable long-term

Get on the park WiFi, learn where the laundry and showers are, and introduce yourself to your neighbors. A good community is half of what makes long-term RV living work.
